NSYNC drops in on the Groove!

According to Chris Codish of The Brother's Groove, teeny-dreamy N'SYNC dropped in to see the band at 5th Avenue Billiards in Royal Oak after their Monday concert at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Apparently, the boy-toy's tour-bus pulled up in front of the club half-way through the second set and....unloaded the group, their bodyguards and a mob of excited fans into the bar, filling the room to capacity. Pontiac born TV actor and singer Tony Lucca, who opened for NSYNC at The Palace and who is a friend to The Groove's James Simonson, arranged the debacle and sat in with the band for a rousing rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." But the pinnacle of the evening, according to Codish, is when NSYNC's J.C. Chasez was prodded to join the band onstage and comp on the Brother's new tune "1,2,3.." "We..were vamping on the end of the tune..and after a little bit of prodding and crowd reaction he got up on stage and proceeded to sing his ass off," said Codish. "Say what you want about their production, and what not, but those boys can sing." The band was particularly impressed with Chasez's ability to extemporize on their song. "It was cool because he had to improvise; no choreography, no routines, just get up on stage and make real music with real cats," said Codish. "We were just laying down a fat slow funky groove and he sang some vocal riffs over it, and he sounded great. The crowd loved it." NSYNC, consisting of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Lance Bass are currently on their "Celebrity Tour 2002" and are headed to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids tonight, then on to Illinois, Ney York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Florida. Rock Stars and Celebrities seem to be following The Brother's Groove around these days; John Popper from Blues Traveler joined the group onstage at the SXSW convention last month and Sponge-monster-turned-Twang-meister Vinnie Dombrowski, currently from "The Orbitsuns," has also sat in with the band recently.
